When I arrived at Les Maisons de la Glappaz, I fell in love with the place. The surrounding calm, the surrounding mountains; the Glappaz, this river that flows behind the house, the song of the birds bringing all the inner serenity that one seeks after having lived for years in Paris, London, Faro (Portugal), Luxembourg, Crete and other cities in France.
I worked as a cook for a few years around 20, which allowed me to live in these different places and even have my own restaurant at 40. I closed it following the Covid, three years of my life which were a life lesson in the face of the trials of choice, questioning, certainty and uncertainty in the face of oneself. Subsequently, to get out of it, I resumed the commercial job that I had exercised for ten years before the Covid.
At the same time, the rehabilitation of the Haute Pointe gîte, whose name is the mountain opposite, was done little by little by our hands with my former companion. The second is called Miribel like the mountain which culminates above us and on Leman lake.
Between my commercial work, that of host and the do-it-yourself to maintain and make this place a haven of peace, one of my hobbies is writing. I wrote a collection of poetry whose title is "Elevation of oneself" published by Le Lys bleu. It is an invitation to be and live in the present, a self-reflection to find this serenity that the Houses of Glappaz provide by putting down your suitcases. I invite you to put them down for a night, a few days or weeks in order to appreciate this break in the madness of our lives.
